In the years 1893-1895 the Louisa Lake was created from a mineral mined bog stock from the Royal Saxon Horticulture Inspector Paul Schindel. Its name goes back to Princess Louise, the Saxon heir Frederick Augustus married in 1891. Then the most beautiful lake in Bad Elster was named after her four years later.
Today you can rent rowing boats here and phalaropes and explore individually the lake. In addition, a sexy trail is perfect for a romantic walk around the lake.
